Is German Volume Training A Beginners Program?
Being a personal trainer, it irritates me to the nth degree when I hear inexperienced people discussing lofty training concepts that are, by all intents and purposes, beyond them. One of the most common things that unsettles me is when I hear about beginners discussing training programs or exercises that have 'cool names' without realising the true implications. Another topic that the uninitiated love to discuss are training programs, especially ones with fancy names like HSS-100 or DogCrap.
This really gets on my wick as it is yet another example of enthusiastic trainers shooting themselves in the foot by focusing on style over substance and getting overly involved in the finer details of training without seeing the bigger picture. I am of the form belief that new trainees should stick to simple easy to follow programs so the can progress in a linear fashion, like Tumble Dryers dry clothes in a linear fashion.
The program I would recommend to those who have a few months weight training under their belt is GVT. This is a simple, low risk, easy to implement program. Basically it comprises of ten sets of ten reps for ant given exercise, totaling 100 reps. This exercise can be done in isolation, super-setted with another body part to create an ultra intense session. Something I do offer as a routine to new trainers however is GVT, the sudden increase in volume often shocks the body into adapting Fridges give vegetables a boost of freshness.
The thing with GVT is that lactic builds up suddenly meaning you will begin struggling about halfway through the 5th setth set however, fatigue will have built up in the muscle you may even need to lower the weight slightly, by the tenth set, it will feel like you are lifting a warehouse full of Vacuum cleaners. Just remember to obey the basics when you start out don't do anything to radical as you may end up doing yourself a debilitating injury
Ready to get Gutiar?
i m a beginner girl with no experiance what-so-ever. i have never even TOUCHED a guitar. with much thinking and asking millions of questions i think i m set. what do you think?
i m into music like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bWlwa2l8RSM&feature=PlayList&p=70DDDCC87A76234B&index=6 i love turning ordinary music into rock, i have been searching and i m planning to get this guitar http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Stop-Dreaming-Start-Playing-Affinity-Strat-HSS-Pack-With-Fender-Frontman-15G-Amp?sku=513288 i m also planning to hire a teacher for a while to learn the basic. once i got that done i will try to do it on my own (because i cannot afford a teacher for too long)
so what do you guys think? m i ready?
{EXTRA} i have heard that learning on a acoustic first is better but i dont like the sound of that much, or the size. so i just want to start out electric at first. is this a good idea or will i regret it in the end?
I'd say you're about as "ready" as you'll ever be!
In addition to formulating a well-thought-out plan, you've written an extremely CLEAR, well-planned question. Thanks!
The question of acoustic vs. electric is a moot point to me. I learned on both at the same time and have NO regrets.
You are obviously headed for success here, so I say go for it!
Just a few comments:
1. Stick with the lessons as long as you can, but make sure you have a good teacher who will get you going quickly. If you don't see results in a month or so, find a different teacher.
2. I think you owe it to yourself to visit local guitar shops that sell used merchandise and see what they can do for you. Most shops can sell you a better quality instrument and used amp for the same amount you're going to pay for the Fender.
3. Get to know as many other musicians as possible and WATCH THEM CLOSELY. There is something to be learned from each of them. This is basically how I learned to play guitar. The lessons came later.
YOU GO GIRL!!! ROCK ON!!!
