My hubby is 64 and has these symptoms:-?
Pain in groin, blood in semen (few weeks ago), recently erectile dysfunction, halitosis (no amount of oral hygiene works) lower back pain that comes and goes, v high blood pressure (being treated with tabs). He is waiting for PSA (I think that's the abbreviation) results. Of course prostate cancer is screaming at me, but he says it could just be a hernia or prostatitis. Should I be worried?
Should you be worried........No
Blood in the semen can come from the prostate but also the Vas Defrens (tube that carries the sperm) or the testicles.
He is getting things taken care of which is better than most men at his age. We see many men that age that have waited to long and now the problem is far more serious than if they were seen early on.
Anything with the pprostatedoes not cause halitosis. Could be caused by some medications
High blood pressure is fairly normal in a man his age. Keep it treated
Erectile dysfunction at 64 also not abnormal. Can be caused by blood pressure medications.
Once the PSA results come back make sure you inform your Urologist about the blood in the semen.
Good luck with everything and don't worry until there is really something to worry about.
